With our current situation as it is we need to rely on our perceptual skills to identify opportunities. This will help your child to be successful and to strive during these difficult times.
You might be thinking why should I focus on my child’s perceptual skill as they are still so young. Well according to Haith, Hazen, and Goodman 1988 a child that was only three and a half months old has made six million eye movements during the hours that they are awake. This might not be remarkable to some but this shows that even from a young age a child will start to develop perceptual skills.
As a parent what needs to be done
As a parent we all need to address the elephant in the room. We want our children to have stronger perceptual skills than the other children in their environments. This will help to identify an opportunity that others might not be able to. Your child will have an advantage from a young age to perceive his/her environment with so much more detail than others.
As a parent you want your child to be the best. This is a dream all parents have but to come back to realty all children are different in their own unique way. Some focus on sound and some focus on a more visual spectrum. With a strong foundation in your child’s perceptual development they can make their own choices as to what they prefer when looking at the world and how they decide to entre this big wide world we live in.
During your normal day to day lives it has become normal to react to your environment without even having to think about it. This natural reaction has been triggered by your perceptual skills you have developed during your live. These skills are fundamental to your child’s development and will guide your child throughout their whole lives.
Join Stimu-Zone and lets begin
With Stimu-Zone we nurture and develop your child’s perceptual skills. We achieve this by providing intellectual programmes to trigger parts of the perceptual spectrum that we feel are most important. Some of the main perceptual skills we focus on are sound, vision and touch. The curriculum we provide has been carefully designed to develop as much perceptual skilled as we possibly can within a set time period.
